Description
TriCab Tinned Straight Half-Moon Copper Lugs are designed as general-purpose lugs for terminating copper conductors.
Tin plating significantly enhances both mechanical and electrical performance. The half-moon inspection hole provides visual confirmation that the cable has been installed correctly when crimping.
The 45˚ chamfer enables easier insertion of finely stranded conductors.
Advantages
- Clear marking on palm indicates correct size.
- Annealed copper barrel maximizes crimping properties.
- Tin plating helps resist corrosive environments.
- Specially chamfered at 45˚ at barrel entry to allow easier insertion of flexible, fine stranded conductor.
Operating Temperature
- -55°C to 155°C
- -67°F to 311°F
Materials
- Barrel - High Conductivity Annealed copper (99.9% purity). Electrolytic tin-plated.
Standards
- AS/NZS 4325.1, IEC 61238-1-1
Inspection and Testing
- Visual inspection
- Physical measurement
- Weight measurement
- Conductor fit
- Heat cycling test to AS/NZS 4325.1 and IEC 61238-1-1
- Mechanical pulling test to AS/NZS 4325.1 and IEC 61238-1-1
* The install guide documents procedures to ease the insertion of fine stranded conductors into the lug using cable ties or cable insulation.
